Jean-Pierre Aurélien de Sèze (1799-1870) was a politician, lawyer and president of the Bordeaux bar. He is notably known for having been the platonic lover of George Sand, which inspired some of the author's writings. He also played an important political role in Gironde in the mid-19th century, notably as a representative of the Gironde in the Constituent Assembly in 1848. Charles Reutlinger (1816-1888) was a photographer specializing in portraits of Parisian personalities.
