Object description :

"Vase In Solid Silver Italy, Alessandria, Cesa Sc Circa 1970"
Solid silver vase has a sober, slightly curved silhouette, resting on a polished circular pedestal that interacts with the upper edge, also polished and shiny. The surface of the body contrasts with its particular treatment: a matte granulation, punctuated by small irregular hollow prints, which animate the material with effects of light and shadow.
This decoration, both discreet and refined, gives the object an organic and contemporary character, reminiscent of natural or mineral textures.

1 AL: goldsmith's hallmark registered in Alessandria, attributed to CESA SC (now CESA 1882). Goldsmith: Founded in 1882, CESA quickly established itself as a major player in Italian goldsmithing. In 1920, it obtained the privilege of becoming an official supplier to the Royal House of Savoy, which established its reputation in the production of luxury silverware. During the 20th century, the company distinguished itself by its ability to combine the great Italian artisanal tradition with modern decorative research. In 1988, CESA acquired the Ricci Argentieri house (former hallmark 20 AL), further expanding its know-how and formal repertoire. From 1994, it joined Gruppo Greggio, one of the largest European producers of silverware and silver-plated metal, which continues its legacy.
