Amazing graphics for this Kashkuli kilim where boxes inserting hourglass patterns stand out against a beige background. Five polychrome borders rich in details frame the whole. Some nuances in the beige, natural color of the wool. Openwork weaving technique. Beautifully made.

The Gashghai confederation includes different tribes. Some examples: the Bozorgs kashkulis (the large ones), the Kucheks kashkulis (the small ones), the Shishbolukis (six districts), the Amalehs or Yalamehs (workers, servants of the Khan).
