19th Century Regency Style Giltwood Armchair

Large Regency Style Giltwood Armchair, Late 19th Century.

Important Regency style giltwood armchair from the Napoleon III period.
Imposing in the manner of a giltwood throne, it is entirely carved with large acanthus leaves on the armrests and its console legs finely resculpted with piastres and linked together by a crosspiece of consoles and scrolls meeting in the center on an urn.
The whole is in excellent condition and very solid.It has been relined in the old style and covered with crimson silk velvet, with a superb burgundy and green braid decorated with tassels of passementerie with large tapestry nails one out of two as we sometimes saw them at the time.
The top of the back ends with two bronze bobeches.

good general condition, some marks of gilding accentuate the old charm of this very beautiful seat.
It is very comfortable.

69 cm wide by 67 cm deep. 43 cm high and 116 cm at the top of the backrest.
