Set Of 4 18th Century Flat Back Armchairs
Superb and elegant set of 4 Louis XV period armchairs with flat backs called "à la reine" in walnut. They rest on four legs all finished with a scroll of acanthus leaves. The belt crosspieces are curved, scalloped and finely carved with foliage motifs. The tops of the backs are decorated with floral carvings, the whip armrests carved with foliage. Seat, solid, wide and comfortable, completely redone in very good quality, upholstered with a gray and anthracite damask fabric giving them a more modern look, all in excellent condition.
