Pair of gilt bronze candlesticks, Empire period, circa 1810. Tapered stem resting on a finely chiseled circular base. Same chiseled decoration on the upper part. Attributed to Claude Galle*. Each candlestick is composed of 8 elements. Very good condition. *Claude Galle (1759-1815), bronze-worker and founder-chaser, received master in 1786 and active on rue Vivienne, supplied the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne under Louis XVI but also and especially under the Empire. He notably made deliveries for the châteaux of Trianons, Fontainebleau, Saint-Cloud, Compiègne and the Tuileries Palace.
