Museum Sewing Machine: Wheeler And Wilson, Marked, Gilt, No. 2, 1870

Very innovative sewing machine, according to the patent applications of 1851 and 1854, its rotary hook, allowed for unparalleled perfection and speed, as well as less noise and wear.
Our model is No. 2, if I understand correctly, with 90% of its original gilding intact, which is unusual.
The steel parts nevertheless deserve to be polished. Machine seems complete, (of course without its pedal), the rotary hook, its barrel are there, my machine is mounted with its 2 threads, and needle, small glass needle entry, it is there too...
Well marked, numbered and engraved, it is a small museum piece: the proof see on last photos the one from a London museum.... Condition: good, no breakage or restoration, wear from use.
