"Watercolor Drawing Of The Capture Of Laghouat By J. Paris "
Quality watercolor drawing representing a battle scene with the capture of Laghouat in 1852. This was a significant episode of the French conquest of Algeria. This commemorative battle scene was probably produced at the end of the 19th century. There are several French artists and illustrators named after Paris, but I have not been able to determine which one it was. In this drawing, we see in the foreground an order of horsemen against a backdrop of troops and a besieged city. Dated and located at the bottom left and signed at the bottom right. Documentation work in very good condition.
