He was inspired by the emblematic figure of the Smiling Angel that adorns the façade of Reims Cathedral, a symbol of Gothic art. With this model, Marc Lalique paid homage to his father and to Champagne, his home region.
Each glass illustrates the virtuosity of the Lalique workshops: the blown-molded parison, the decorated leg of the Angel, and the hand-shaped foot come together with rare precision. Engraving, satin finishing and polishing then magnify the volumes and give the crystal this vibrant light which makes each glass an exceptional piece.
Their elegant silhouette enhances both the lively sparkle of a fine champagne and the delicate hue of a white or red wine.
Each glass, 21 cm high, is signed Lalique France.
