Fine porcelain inkwell in white ground with polychrome and gilt decoration, produced by the prestigious Hungarian manufactory Herend and fully hand-painted. The shaped base, edged with gilding, is adorned with colourful butterflies, while the centre features two perched birds, part of the famous “Rothschild Bird” pattern, created around 1860 for the Rothschild family of Vienna.
The inkwell comes with its original ink pot, lid with applied flower, and pen holder. Marked underneath Herend Hungary Handpainted with model number.A refined desk accessory, combining aristocratic elegance with Herend’s celebrated decorative artistry.
