CIMARRE in pewter in the shape of a baluster with a moving and molded pedestal, quarter-round throat, cover and thumb with tassels, fitted with a fixed handle and a swinging handle with attachments depicting a human mask with a collar.
Rémi TISSET's hallmark received master around 1760: crowned hammer / fleuron / R.T.
Height: 27.3 cm.
MONTIER-EN-DER, Last third of the 18th century.

In perfect condition and clearly hallmarked.
These cimarres, of medieval inspiration, were intended for serving wine at receptions where they replaced pitchers. In the 17th and 18th centuries, they were mostly from Champagne.
