"Gouache By Fernand Fortuné, "boulevard De La Madeleine Paris""
Superb gouache by Fernand FORTUNÉ (1866-1955) representing the Place de la Madeleine in Paris in 1909. This Norman artist studied at the Beaux-Arts in Rouen, he exhibited in Paris from 1912, a city where he had a large production. He produced many watercolors of monuments or streets but also seascapes of his native region. Some of his works are preserved in French national museums such as the Beaubourg center. As for this gouache, very animated, we see different characters walking the boulevard, horse-drawn carriages against a backdrop of architecture. Colorful work presented under glass in an old gilded wood frame. Signed lower right, dated and located lower left. Quality work in excellent condition.
