"nakomsé" Statue, Mossi People, Burkina Faso
Slender statue depicting a standing female figure, arms detached from the body. The genitals are represented as well as beautiful nourishing breasts. The face is fine and decorated with scarifications. A very beautiful summit crest finishes the statue.
This sculpture is very elegant. This type of statue is called "Nakomse" and is linked to Princess Yennega, founder of the Mossi people. She was renowned for her great beauty.
