Rambouillet 1896/1993
Self-taught painter, he began a career in haute couture between the two wars but continued painting at the same time.
He exhibited at the Salon des Peintres Indépendants in Paris from 1925
He became a member of the Société National des Beaux-Arts in 1930
Hidden during the war because he was persecuted for his origins, it was after this that he devoted himself entirely to painting.
A tireless traveler, he traveled the world from 1948, eventually being invited aboard the helicopter carrier cruiser Jeanne D'Arc for a round-the-world trip in 1981.
He became an official painter of the Navy in 1963.
He was a member of the board of directors of the National Society of Fine Arts in 1977.
He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor for his work. Many French museums and ministries have works of his.
He bequeathed his studio funds to the town of Rambouillet in 1990.
