The artist in his own words : "In 1958 a turning point began with the abandonment of figuration and the evolution towards abstract expressionism (...) . From monochrome it is gradually reduced to white and black. From there to definitively converting to graphics there is only one step, I crossed it happily in 1967. From now on I will only do drawing, but a drawing nourished by a long experience as a painter. Slow work with a brush, a pen and repeated by incessant scratching. Orthodox music accompanies my solitary approach [...] In 1981, "The Late Majesties", a long series devoted to great characters doomed to slow erosion."
