Joaquin FABRES (1864-1914)
Joaquin Fabres Fuenzalida, painter.
He was born in Santiago, Chile in 1864 and died in Paris in 1914 at the age of 50.
He carried out his first studies with his friend the painter Ernesto Molina. Later, he was a student of Juan Francisco Gonzalez, who exerted a great influence on his work by inheriting from him, the only insinuated drawing and the taste for brushstrokes.
The author was a member of the organizing committee of the 1910 International Exhibition and one of the promoters of the building of the Palace and the School of Fine Arts on the occasion of the celebration of the hundred years of Chilean Independence.
Invited to stay in France, he stayed on the French Riviera where he produced several paintings.
