Gilt Copper Inlaid Iron Tsuba – Flowers and Scrolls – Heianjō School, Edo Period Mokko-gata-shaped tsuba, made of finely worked iron, decorated with flowers and scrolls inlaid with gilt copper. This type of ornamentation is characteristic of the decorative refinement of the Edo period. Attributable to the famous Heianjō school, active mainly between the 16th and 17th centuries, although this piece was probably made during the Edo period (1603–1868). Unsigned tsuba, as is often the case for this type of object. Dimensions: Diameter: between 7.6 cm and 7.9 cm General condition: well preserved, with slight surface oxidation visible in the photos, without structural fragility.
