Troop Helmet Of The 10th Dragoon Regiment — Model 1845

Rare troop helmet of the 10th Dragoon Regiment, model 1845, in beautiful condition and 100% authentic. The stamped brass bomb is perfectly registered and received by the regiment. The headband is made of genuine cowhide, composed of four pieces, presenting a beautiful period patina. Original black horsehair mane, brass ring chinstraps with their period leathers, radiating pattern rosettes also in stamped brass. Visor and neck cover circled with a brass band set "à cheval", with original black interior sheepskin, still very present despite some losses. The leather interior, cut in wolf teeth, has some tears, typical for its age; light care will be enough to nourish it. The interior fleece is preserved, which is very rare for this type of piece. The stamped brass crest is composed of two flanks adorned with a Medusa head and a pomegranate. The upper ornament retains its original black horsehair tuft. All parts are original and conform to the regulation model. Note: only the leather lace appears to have been replaced. Some minor signs of wear and dents are visible, illustrated in detail in the photos. A magnificent example, rare on the market, ideal for enriching a serious collection.
