A fine copy in blond calf, this large volume In 16 with the cipher of Amadeo on the first cover and Dal Pozzo on the second. This rare piece of prestigious Italian belonging, the "Marquis di Pozzo", is in its 16th century binding and contains in Latin the "Roman Antiquities", written in Latin by Dionysius of Halycarnassus; printed in Lyon by Antonin Vincent in M?DC. VXIII. (1563). This large volume belonging to the period (Struck 50 years after its publication). Spine with raised bands in glazed blond calf, gilt title, small gilt irons in the boxes, covers with frames, fleuron in the gilt center, numbers on the two different covers, engraved tenches "Dioniis Halycarnasse". Collated complete: 854 pp + 33f. not numbered (table at the end). Work that belonged to the Marquis Amédéo Dal Pozzo (1579-1643), a knowledgeable bibliophile. Another owner later with the Ex-libris of René Amédée Choppin de Villy (1806-1886), Head of department of the Bank of France and also a great bibliophile; his library was dispersed in 1920. This work by the historian Dionysius Halicarnassensis (60 to 8 BC)
