Resumption Of The Imperial Throne Of Napoleon Ist, Model By Jacob Desmalter.

Impressive imperial throne, originally designed for the Throne Room of the Tuileries Palace, executed by Jacob-Desmalter, made from drawings by the official architects Percier and Fontaine.
In carved and gilded wood, it is composed of a round back decorated with a torus of oak leaves underlined by a frieze of water leaves, square legs transformed into pilasters decorated with friezes of bases, fleurons and palmettes, and armrests crowned with marble balls.
This throne was made in 1804 and delivered before the imperial coronation. It symbolizes imperial authority, combining the rigor of neoclassical forms and the magnificence of the Empire.

Featuring a magnificent new tapestry in red velvet enhanced with gold thread braids and piping.
