Eared dagger similar to the work of Diego Caias (Spain, period of activity: 1535-1549)
Frame in damascened iron, ivory and silver.
Slice of apparent silk blackened and damascened with gold decorated with foliage, flanked by two silver plates decorated with lines forming the interior ears at the level of the pommel.
Set adorned on both sides with riveted ivory plates studded with silver.
Straight double-edged blade, median edge and ricasso, damascened with gold decorations foliage.
Provenance: purchase from Olivier Hoare.
Piece presented in a box lined with black velvet.
