Beautiful painting on canvas depicting a cottage in a landscape animated by two figures, signed lower right: "A. de Fontenay". Daligé de Fontenay Alexis Léonard, born April 29, 1813 in Paris, died in 1892 in Paris. Landscape painter, he was a student of Watelet and Hersent at the École des Beaux-Arts which he entered in 1831. This well-made canvas is representative of the spontaneity of the excellent painter Daligé de Fontenay who painted landscapes from nature without retouching. French School, original frame gilded with gold leaf. Stretched frame. Very good condition. W/H with frame: 98 X 70 cm. W/H without frame: 68 X 40 cm.
