Oil on canvas signed lower right, "marine in Douarnenez". Dimensions of the canvas 65x54cm. 85x74cm in its beautiful Montparnasse frame. Beautiful light for this work by Paul Eschbach. A student of JP Laurens at the Académie Julian, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1903. He won several awards there, including a gold medal in 1920. A lover of Brittany and a member of the Concarneau school (he was president of the Artistic Union there with Barnoin), he devoted himself mainly to seascapes and landscapes from 1920. As in our painting, we find in his works a beautiful light enhanced by the atmosphere specific to the Breton coastline
