"Large Bacchus Bronze Sculpture"
Large Sculpture of Bacchus or Dionysus signed Damé in very good condition with a Medal patina. This Sculpture has a "sea green" marble base in less good condition, with shocks. With very beautiful dimensions of a total Height of 97 cm with its base (79 cm without the base) and a Width of 30 cm. Bacchus was the god of wine and celebration in Roman mythology. Considered the most versatile and elusive of the gods, with a Greek equivalent in Dionysus, Bacchus is often associated with the Roman god of wine Liber Pater. He brings joy wherever he goes, but if he is upset, he can be a vengeful god, driving people to madness. Ernest Appolinaire Damé born October 1, 1845 in Saint-Florentin (Yonne) and died November 22, 1920 in Paris, is a French sculptor.
