"Lionel Jadot, Large Cowhide, Leather And Oak Bench, C.2010"
This stunning daybed, designed and crafted by Lionel Jadot, expertly combines raw cowhide and tanned leather. Produced around 2010, this unique piece is inspired by the aesthetics of ancient Egypt. It embodies exclusive craftsmanship and was commissioned for an interior design project in Brussels. Solid oak legs enhance its robust yet elegant appeal. A truly unique addition to any interior, offering both comfort and a striking visual impact. Traces of use and patina on the leather and legs, very good overall condition. Signed by the artist. Lionel Jadot, Belgian designer, decorator, and artist, born in 1969. He grew up in a Brussels chairmaking workshop where his family had worked for six generations. Since then, he has nurtured a passion for transforming recycled materials. Jadot has always created unique works, preferring sustainable objects to mass production. As an interior designer, he recently completed "Le Mix" in Brussels, a hotel and living space created with the help of around fifty designers, offering an unforgettable hospitality experience. These designers are often welcomed into his Zaventem studio, a veritable breeding ground for talent. Lionel Jadot developed an obsession with recycling at an early age, finding an inexhaustible source of inspiration in the discarded items from the family workshop. He made his first stool at the age of six and pursued this passion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, alongside renowned craftsmen and architects. Taking over the family business at the age of 19, he gained valuable experience in management and design. In 2000, he founded his own workshop. Lionel Jadot was awarded Designer of the Year at the 2024 edition of the Maison & Objet trade fair.
