Biography – Georg Glaser (Frankenthal 1950 – Oupeye 2013)
Georg Glaser was a Belgian-German multidisciplinary artist. He attended classes from 1971 to 1973 at the Academy of Düsseldorf, from 1974 to 1979 at the University of Berlin in ethnology and archaeology, and from 1982 to 1983 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège.
He exhibited regularly from 1983 onwards, in Belgium and abroad, including Galerie Liehrmann in Liège in 2013.
Glaser’s painting is a form of social critique that frequently uses a multitude of symbols, often expressed through humor. The apparent simplicity of his drawing style allows him to effectively translate complex sociological questioning onto canvas, linking him to both the past and present of German Expressionism.
