"Gilt Bronze And Cloisonné Enamel Inkwell – Napoleon III Style, 19th Century "
Superb antique 19th century gilt bronze inkwell, Napoleon III style, decorated with deep colored cloisonné enamel. This refined display object perfectly embodies the elegance of French decorative arts of the second half of the 19th century. The piece rests on a decorative base mounted on four finely worked feet, on which rises a central inkwell with two handles, decorated with stylized chimera heads. The lid is surmounted by a pine cone motif, typical of ceremonial objects of the period. The cloisonné enamel decoration forms very neat repetitive ornamental patterns, providing an elegant contrast to the gilt bronze. Ideal object to enrich a collection of French antiques, Napoleon III style, or to complete a period desk with an authentic and decorative piece. Dimensions: 16.5 × 8.5 × 15 cm
