Each mother-of-pearl plate, finely engraved, forms a refined decoration of birds among bamboo and delicate flowers. The work is of great precision, with clean and regular details, and the mother-of-pearl captures the light, offering magnificent iridescent reflections. Work of a Vietnamese workshop from the end of the 19th century, illustrating the remarkable mastery of the artisans of Hue and Saigon in the art of mother-of-pearl marquetry.
