SCULPTURE-LIGHTING-DECORATION CANDLE HOLDER WITH HANDLES PATINATED BRONZE FRANCE 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE ROMAN FOOT AUGUSTE NICOLAS CAIN (1821-1894) Auguste Nicolas Cain (1821-1894 Paris) sculptor, began in the workshop of Alexandre Guionnet (1791-1853) and later became the student of François Rude (1784-1855). He finally joined forces with his father-in-law, the sculptor Pierre-Jules Mène (1810-1879). Here, a patinated bronze candle holder with hands depicting an antique Roman foot. Many of his works can be found in public buildings, museums, parks and gardens (Louvre, Chantilly, Fontainebleau, Tuileries, Luxembourg Gardens, etc.). Unsigned piece but model known to the artist.
