"Modern Art Painting "the Pink City In The Water" Mixed Technique Cubism Abstract Figuration 20th Century"
MODERN ART-PAINTING-ABSTRACT FIGURATION MIXED TECHNIQUE 20TH CENTURY FRANCE GILSER THE PINK CITY IN THE WATER Large mixed technique in acrylic, varnish and black pencil, relating to abstract figuration, in the manner of neo-cubism, worked with small touches and several superimposed layers and underlayers, allowing an impression of blurred depth, like a sfumato (invented by Vinci for "The Virgin of the Rock"). Here the pink city is reflected in the water, which itself is reflected in the city; hence a play of mirror colors, quite well mastered by the artist; these same colors blending happily. Painted on panel and framed in black (lacquered wooden strips). Signed Gilser lower right and dated (48 or 78). Very good condition (see descriptive photos).
