Elegant Belle Époque trousseau set (circa 1900), comprising: A large pure linen sheet: 228 cm x 316 cm, return of 95 cm Two matching pillowcases: 80 x 78 cm (inside 63 x 61 cm), made of slightly finer thread, ideal for the summer season. The set is richly decorated with hand-embroidered floral Richelieu embroidery. The design features large openwork daisies on the sheet, and flowers of the same inspiration on the pillowcases, adapted to the scale of each room. The DG monograms are embroidered with refinement: On the sheet, the initials are ample and generously worked. On the pillowcases, they appear in a slightly different version, finer and more delicate. This variation is explained by the fact that, very often, the sheets and pillowcases were embroidered separately, sometimes even by different embroiderers, which gives each piece its unique character while preserving the harmony of the trousseau.
