Painter (Frankfurt am Main 1655 or 1657 - Rome 1706), son and pupil of Johann Heinrich. In 1677 he left for Rome, where he studied with G. Brandi, whose daughter he married in 1681; he then settled in Tivoli. He was particularly active as a painter of animals, depicted in the foreground against a landscape background, with rich colors and intense lighting effects.
