"August Riedel (bayreuth, 25 Dicembre 1799[1] – Roma, 6 Agosto 1883) Giuditta "
August Riedel attended the Munich Academy of Fine Arts from 1820 onwards, where he demonstrated an eye for color. He further developed his sense of color in Italy, where he moved in 1828 and remained until his death. In his youth, he was a member of the Lukasbund, and in his later years became an Accademia di San Luca. He enjoyed considerable success in Germany in the mid-19th century: his works are exhibited at the Neue Pinakothek in Munich and the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin.
