"San Girolamo"
San Gerolamo, the excellent quality of the flesh tones and the careful use of light contrasts that outline the face and arm of the saint lead to placing it in the Neapolitan environment of the 1600s of which JUSEPE DI RIBERA (1591-1652) was one of the main exponents.
The composition with a light source that illuminates the figure of the saint and the landscape in shadow contribute to a greater emotional impact in front of this beautiful work of excellent quality and good state of conservation. The painting is accompanied by a copy of a study made by the previous owner in which the work is placed in Neapolitan painting precisely by the painter GIOVANNI RICCA (NAPLES)
