Rare Cross With Angel Wings 19th Century.

Description:
Wrought iron, 24k gilding and matte black lacquer.

This astonishing and charming cross is decorated with angel wings and vine leaves. Made of wrought iron and not cast iron, it is a special order probably requested from the village blacksmith, whose ornamental details give it its naive elegance rather in the spirit of the 18th century.
The reference to angels is perhaps linked to childhood. Condition: Excellent condition, gilding with redone leaf.
The gilding is more gold in reality than in the photos where it appears as clear, white.
