"Subject, Lion, Hyena, Beast In Bronze From Benin Dahomey Cotonou Vintage/old"
Very nice subject in handcrafted bronze Dahomey Cotonou, Benin, Africa. Statuette representing a lion, hyena or other predator holding a prey in its mouth, sheep, antelope.... Gilded bronze with a dark/brown patina of uniform and clean origin. Extremely fine detail work, hand hammered. Vintage 40s-70s or earlier. 19cm max length, 13cm without the tail, about 8cm max width for about 16.5cm max head height. Very good general condition, a small shock on the top of the left ear quite discreet, nothing notable apart from that. This is a very beautiful handcrafted piece that will delight lovers of African art. About 1kg.
