Description:

This beautiful oil on canvas by André Planson depicts a stroll in a park. It is presented in a Montparnasse frame made of carved, patinated, and gilded wood.


Our painting, in very good condition, remains on its original canvas. It is signed at the bottom right by the artist. Its authenticity has been confirmed by Madame Marie-Dominique Planson, the painter's daughter.

Biography:

André Émile Planson, a French painter born on April 1, 1898, in La Ferté sous Jouarre, and died on September 29, 1981, in Neuilly sur Seine, initially received guidance from Paul Mesle, a local painter, before attending the Académie Ranson in Paris (1917-1919). Along with Roland Oudot, Maurice Brianchon, Christine Caillard, Roger Limouse, and Raymond Legueult, he formed the group known as the Painters of Poetic Reality. He was also a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (1960).

Planson's works are primarily preserved at the Musée André Planson in La Ferte sous Jouarre. Pierre Mac Orlan dedicated an essay to him.
