Artist: Louis Eugène Sieffert, Paris 1842- Sèvres 1929
Louis Eugène Sieffert is the son of Louis Sieffert, albator, and Élisabeth Sieffert. A pupil of M. Grehant, L. Lequien and Popelin, he exhibited at the Salon from 1861. In 1864, in Paris, he married Annette Eugénie Perrot (1843-1923)[2]. Their son Paul Sieffert won the Prix de Rome for painting. A porcelain painter like his wife, he also produced miniatures, enamels and earthenware, as well as watercolors. Provenance: Sieffert estate. Millon § associés, 6/06/2007, as indicated by the round stamp on the back of the watercolor.
