Murano Glass Paperweight On Stand
Blown glass paperweight on stand, mille fiori decoration, first half of the 20th century. Incredible technique which includes twists of pink ribbons and white fishnets in a blown glass ball, top decoration of multicolored stylized flowers. Shower foot on a strong circular base in blown and applied glass. These decorative objects on stand have sometimes been confused with wig stands, called wig ball or bonnet holder; too small to receive a hairpiece. However, this model could be a great bonnet holder for a child... The base is solid, the stability very good. Inclusions of fine scattered air bubbles. No chips or scratches.
