Biography
Antonio Secci (1944–2024) was an Italian painter born in Dorgali, Sardinia. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he began his career in the 1960s. Influenced by the Italian spatialist movement, his work explores the interplay between matter, light, and space through abstract and brutalist compositions, often executed in oil on panel or canvas.
In the 1970s, Secci returned to Sardinia and settled in Cala Gonone, where he opened his studio. Deeply inspired by the natural surroundings, he pursued his exploration of form and texture until his death in 2024. His oeuvre is defined by a liberated approach to abstraction, in constant dialogue with the Mediterranean landscape and light.
