AFRICAN ART-TRIBAL ART-PRIMARY ARTS SCULPTURE SOLID WOOD MONOXYL 1ST HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY LUBA ETHNIC GROUP DR CONGO-ZAIRE CENTRAL AFRICA VOTIVE FEMALE STATUETTE Votive female statuette, with a cup (intended to receive kaolin, symbol of purity and the spiritual world), probably an effigy of the diviner's wife, in a kneeling posture presenting the cup. Beautiful, very sophisticated headdress/hair, prominent forehead, very elongated eyes and powerful jaw. Dark honey patina with brown nuances. Solid wood sculpture, monoxyl. Wooden support.
