TRIBUTE ARTS-OCEANIAN ARTS-SCULPTURE INDONESIA NORTH JAVA KRISS HANDLE SOLID WOOD CARVED EARLY 19TH CENTURY Kriss handle (old Indonesian dagger), in solid carved wood, with anthropomorphic/zoomorphic subject, base. Important and rich ornamental sculpture work for this small subject half man, half anima, with very fine and abundant details, it seems carapace. It comes from Indonesia, from the north coast of the island of Java, at the beginning of the 19th century. Beautiful patina of use, tawny to chocolate. Good general condition, an old restoration (traces, marks; see descriptive photos). Weight: 87 grams
