"Small And Rare Coin Cabinet With Carthusian Inlays."
Interesting cabinet-coin cabinet, probably rebuilt in the early 19th century, with panels and woodwork made of Carthusian inlays from the late 15th century. Carpentry of this type was in vogue in the second half of the 15th century in a vast area of central Italy, including Umbria, Marche, and Tuscany, crafted by master woodworkers dedicated to the construction of monumental liturgical and monastic furnishings.
The woodwork and panels that make up the structure, the pilasters, the drop-leaf door, and the veneers of the drawers are ancient Carthusian parts.
