This painting is an intimate outdoor scene. It shows a woman sitting on a bench or a low wall reading, with her left hand she cradles a baby lying in a pram. The scene takes place in a green setting, probably a park or a garden. The vegetation is suggested by broad brushstrokes in a gradient of greens. The style of the painting is figurative but a little sketchy. It is an oil painting on panel. The painting is signed F. Nantet lower right and dated 1922. The frame is probably not original or has been repainted in gold. Dimensions: 33 × 25.5 without frame and 41 × 33 with frame.
