Antique Turkmen Tenetschir Pendants – Silver& Carnelian, Tekke Tribe Earrings

A rare and impressive pair of antique Turkmen ear pendants, known as "tenetschir", traditionally worn by Tekke women not on the ears, but attached to the headdress as part of ceremonial and bridal attire.

Expertly handcrafted in high-grade silver, these pendants are inlaid with flat-cut natural carnelian and decorated with traditional geometric motifs. Each features a large teardrop form with three suspended dangles, designed to shimmer and produce soft chimes when worn.

Turkoman ornaments of this kind were typically included in bridal dowries, symbolizing protection, fertility, status, and tribal identity. The carnelian stones were believed to ward off evil and strengthen the wearer.
