Oil On Canvas, “untitled”, Luciano Gaspari, C. 1980
Artist: Luciano Gaspari
Luciano Gaspari trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and developed his own pictorial language, ranging from realism to abstraction. He regularly participated in the Venice Biennale and the Quadriennale in Rome, gaining important awards since the 1930s. His research combines formal rigour, chromatic sensitivity and technical experimentation.
The painting is a material abstract work. Ideally, the canvas is divided into two sections: the upper part is characterised by dark tones tending towards brown, while the lower part shows how the colours lighten with shades of beige, cream and yellow. Moreover, the use of material and colour creates an almost tactile visual experience.
The artist's signature, “L. Gaspari”, is visible on the right, halfway up the painting. It is an oil on canvas measuring 61x28.5 cm and has a pencil inscription “GASPARI” on the back.
The state of preservation is excellent.
