beautiful portrait of a woman, Catherine Françoise ROBELOT, richly dressed, wearing a jeweled dress and a red coat lined with dark green. In her left hand, she holds a miniature representing a child, probably to indicate motherhood or the importance of descent. This iconography was common to show the continuity of the family line. Painting sold in its original state, to be cleaned, canvas relined, and enhanced with two bands at the top and bottom to adapt it to the 19th century frame, but easily removable from the main frame of the portrait.
