Pair Of 6-light Candelabras, In Gilded Bronze, From The 19th Louis-philippe Period
- Pair of 6-light gilt bronze candelabra, 19th century Louis-Philippe period (1830-1848).
- Triangular base with concave sides decorated with heart-shaped rays, supporting a tripod with folded lion's paws on which rest acanthus leaves alternating with scrolled shells arranged between the legs like lambrequins. Turned shaft fluted in sheath, with a base decorated with water leaves then large vertical backed leaves, supporting a bouquet of six lights. The central stem exceeding all the others stands and has two levels of leaf bases carrying a socket decorated with a frieze of backed water leaves while the five branches arranged around evolve in an S shape with leaf and inverted volute. They end with the same decorated socket.
- These candelabras are distinguished by the finesse of their chiseling and by the research into material effects with a variation of finishing techniques (polishing, guilloché, bush-hammering). Also noteworthy is the ingenuity of the assembly, each element is removable. This allows these six-light candelabras to be transformed into torches.
- Good condition
- Dimensions - Height: 57 cm, Width: 23.5 cm, Depth; 23.5 cm
