Superb and rare tea or coffee service published by Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach factory, production made at the time of the Economic Union France-Saar (circa 1950-1959). This service perfectly illustrates the aesthetics of 1950s modernism, with its clean curved lines and its deep black / bright yellow chromatic contrast which evokes the world of late Bauhaus design or Scandinavian productions of the same period. It is found under the name "Biarritz". • 1 teapot with lid • 1 sugar bowl with lid • 1 milk jug • 6 tea or coffee cups • 6 matching saucers. Good general condition. The enamel is shiny and bright, some discreet interior signs of use (enamel cracks visible on the sugar bowl in particular, without alteration of use). No chip, no crack.
