The work shows us the port from the sea. The lower half is occupied by a large reflection on the water, which makes the work very bright and gives the measure of the boats and buildings facing the ocean.
Next come several boats and trawlers, some of which are brightened by patches of bright colors. Above, here are the white houses with tiled roofs so characteristic of the Isle of Yeu. Smoke escapes from a tall chimney.
The work is signed lower right. It is in excellent condition. Its title is written on the back, on the stretcher.
The work is offered unframed, as befits modern works.
This work was created by Jean-François Pierre, born in 1936 in Nantes and died in 2020 in the south of France, near Avignon. Jean-François Pierre taught painting in art schools in Saint Nazaire then in Avignon.
